I heard about that on the radio. Odd. It makes me think of the scene at Harfang castle in C.S. Lewis's book The Silver Chair—fattening him up for the Autumn Feast. I suppose I shouldn’t be so pessimistic. Odder things have happened.

I'm afraid I share your pessimism. Any update to that story is likely to be a gruesome one.
